Unraveled Privacy Policy

Unraveled (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile app and web app (collectively, the “Services”).
By creating an account and using our Services, you expressly consent to the collection, use, and storage of your personal information as described in this policy. We only process your data to provide and improve the Unraveled app and related services.
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account or use the app, we may collect the following personal information:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone Number
Additionally, when you use the Unraveled web app, we collect certain team information (such as team names, logos, and league data) sourced from public leagues and official partners to provide you with accurate sports content.
We do not claim ownership of the league or team logos and names; these are used under applicable league permissions and copyright laws.
Athlete Submissions and Rankings
When users voluntarily submit information through ranking or athlete evaluation forms, we may collect additional details such as date of birth or age category, school name, playing position, performance information, and submitted game footage. This information is provided voluntarily for the purpose of evaluation, ranking, and potential featuring on the Unraveled platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your account
- To provide access to app features
- To communicate important app-related updates
- To improve the performance and reliability of the app
- To evaluate, rank, and feature high school basketball athletes based on submitted information and footage
We do not sell or share your personal information with advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.
3. How We Store and Protect Your Data
We use Supabase to store and manage user data securely. Supabase provides authentication, database, and server-less back-end infrastructure.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures, including encryption and access controls, to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
If your data is transferred outside of South Africa, we ensure that the destination country has adequate data protection measures in place or we implement appropriate safeguards.
4. Children’s Privacy
Unraveled may process personal information relating to high school athletes under the age of 18 strictly for sporting, ranking, and development purposes. By submitting information on behalf of a minor, the submitter confirms that they are the athlete or have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verified parental or guardian consent, and such data will be deleted if identified.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights under applicable data protection laws, including POPIA:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Delete your account and associated personal data
- Withdraw your consent where applicable
To exercise any of these rights, please email us at contact@unraveledapp.co.za with a clear description of your request. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe as required by law.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us.
7. Third-Party Services
We use Supabase as our backend infrastructure. Supabase may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing it here:

9. Changes to This Policy
